Joy – Day 4
Many years ago, carolers would go from door to door singing Christmas carols to family, neighbors, and friends. These old hymns proclaimed the birth of our Messiah. We revisit these joyous choruses as we worship together. Some of us kneel at the altar, some sing, some play musical instruments, and some quietly pray. We all worship.
Why worship? How can we not worship when He is our exceeding joy?! Our carols express our praise to Him and extol the glorious work He has done in our hearts. These are good tidings of great joy! Come, let joy lead us into worship.
Prayer
Father, let our voices, our instruments, and our prayers be heard in the halls of heaven. We bring not the gifts of the Magi, but our heartfelt praise. O God, our God, we worship You alone. Amen
Call to Action
Put on some worship music and sing along.
I don’t have a singer’s voice, but I love listening to and singing Christmas songs this time of year! People who won’t listen to traditional worship music, don’t think twice about listening to Christmas carols. I can sneak all kinds of Jesus music in this time of year!
