Peace – Day 5
Just as we shouldn’t wait until a rainstorm to buy an umbrella, we also shouldn’t wait until our hardest times to start seeking the peace of God. He wants to bless you every day, not just when the rain is falling. He also wants to strengthen you to bless others when they need shelter from life’s trials. Build peace for tomorrow by seeking Him and pursuing His holiness today. Pray, read your Bible, go to church, and live at peace with your friends and neighbors (yes, even the ones on the internet!) Let your life be a living testimony to the goodness of the Lord. Then, being rooted and grounded in the love of Jesus, ask Him for opportunities to share the peace, joy, strength, and hope He has given you with others.
Prayer
“Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.” – St. Francis of Assisi
Call to Action
What’s stopping you from seeking the Lord and pursuing His holiness today? Are you saying “yes” when you should say “no” (to an unhealthy relationship, social obligation, a hobby, or an addiction?) Are you saying “no” when you should say “yes” (to praying, reading the Bible, or obeying something you know you’re supposed to do?) Make sure that your “yeses” and “nos” are leading you toward God’s peace and not away from it.
Such a good word! Thank you. ❤️🎄it’s easy to over commit, around the holidays especially, at the risk of
losing the peace of Jesus.
Such a good reminder to check in on what I’m saying yes and no to this season.
Sometimes it’s a hard choice. The balance between caring for those who are very needy and drain us
and maintaining God’s peace.
