Peace – Day 1

The world defines peace as the absence of disturbance or conflict. Jesus offers true peace that is not dependent on the ever-changing circumstances of this world. He brings Himself into our deepest turmoil, worries, fears, doubts, and promises. What we see and feel right now is not the end of the story. Do you need to be saved? Jesus is the Savior. Have a situation that needs redemption? He is the Redeemer. Not sure what to do? He is the Counselor. Running low on strength? He is the Everlasting. Do you feel alone? He is Immanuel, who will never leave or forsake us. This week, well look at how to make peace with our past, find peace in our busyness, feel peace while were waiting, prepare and share peace with others, and pursue peace with gratitude. Wont you join us?

Prayer

Jesus, we thank You that You are our living and active peace. Help us refocus our thoughts away from the shifting sand of day-to-day life and keep them fixed on You, the Prince of Peace.

Call to Action

Have the circumstances of life been robbing you of true peace? Instead of wishing trouble away, fix your mind on the wholeness of Jesus, the Word of God. Look up some Bible verses that speak directly to the things keeping you up at night; write them down, memorize them, and repeat them often. Even though the world offers a steady stream of trouble, we can find peace in these words of Jesus: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
