Hope – Day 2

It was thousands of years between the first prophecy of the Messiah in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:15) and when Isaiah prophesied about Him to the people of Israel. It was another 700 years after Isaiah’s prophecy until Jesus arrived. We’re talking about thousands of years of hard life for Israel. Slavery, oppression, war, division, brokenness – the impact of living with sin – day after day, year after year. For thousands of years. Yet, throughout all this, there was something greater. Something that kept them going day after day, year after year. Hope. Yes, hope that one day, the Messiah will come and deliver them from their bondage and set them free. That hope was realized when Jesus came – although many didn’t recognize Him. But to those who do, we can finally rest in Him, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
