Jesus is #1

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” John 1:14

Jesus is #1. So the Word is #1.

To be close to Jesus is to get into His Word. How will we know God’s will and ways if we don’t know His Word? And not just know the Word. Obey the Word. Love His Words. His Word that never changes.

It’s the same Bible that Martin Luther believed. It’s the same Bible that Billy Graham preached. His truth, His gospel, His plan of salvation hasn’t changed:

We are sinners destined for death.

Jesus paid our sin debt.

All who believe in Jesus are given eternal life.

Yes, the Holy Spirit dwells in us and we should spend time in the presence of God as we worship in His Presence. We cannot give priority to just “being” in His Presence. We don’t just need an emotional high. We need truth backing it up.

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God” (John 1:1).

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).

Jesus is the Word. The Word became flesh.

If we say we love Jesus, we must love the Bible. And obey.

“If you love Me, keep my commandments” (John 14:13).

Father, help us to live in Your truth as You have written it in Your Word. May we follow Jesus all the days of our lives.
