Cut Off

A Mini Devotional

“For I said in my haste, ‘I am cut off from before Your eyes’; nevertheless, You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried out to You.” Psalm 31:22

Are You there, Lord? You must not be hearing me, because I’m getting nowhere with You. You aren’t answering me, and I feel alone.

Am I cut off from before Your eyes?

No, saints and daughters—and myself—we are not cut off. In haste and impatience, we may say He has left us to ourselves, but it isn’t true. My circumstances may hammer away at my emotions, my health, my peace, and my stability, but they don’t hammer away at God.

“…Where were the upright ever cut off?” Job 4:7

“Cut off” means I’m severed.

“Cut off” means the lines of communication or supply are cut.

“Cut off” means the thread by which I’m hanging is cut.

“Cut off” means I’m separated from the “herd,” from God’s family.

These things will never happen.

“For surely there is a hereafter, and your hope will not be cut off” (Proverbs 23:18).

Father, thank You for Your steadfast love and promises. Hang on to me. Amen.
