Carry Me
A Mini-Devotional
“Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance; shepherd them also, and bear them up forever.” Psalm 28:9
Look at David’s bold prayer: Save us, bless us, shepherd us, bear us up forever.
What else is there to ask for? David is saying, “Be the Father. Do what a good dad does for his kids who can’t do for themselves. Save, bless, lead, carry.”
“…and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.” (Deuteronomy 1:31)
I especially love the thought of “bear us up forever.” Take us where we need to go, Lord. Hold us in Your arms so we will arrive safely. Don’t put us down somewhere along the way.
Brother Lawrence said whenever he stumbled (whether spiritually or physically I do not know): “O Lord, this is what You may expect of me if You leave me to myself.”
Let’s pray it together today.
Father, save. Bless. Lead. Carry. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Amen
Sometimes the short prayers are the most powerful. Thank you for your faithfulness Father.
