Honor Me

“So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.'” Hebrews 13:6

Early last week I had an unexpected health event. It was a “suddenly,” but not the kind I had been praying for!

My friends, my family, and my doctor walked and helped me through it. I was on standby one night in case I needed to go to Emergency, but I was okay overnight and went to my doctor’s office the next morning. I ended up having a good appointment with her. She was able to examine me and assure me that all was well. In fact, there were some encouraging things she found that were really helpful. I’m doing okay now.

In the midst of everything, the Lord spoke a special word into my heart. It was so encouraging and helped me rest in His care. I love how He does that! There’s nothing quite like having Him speak to us.

A friend also shared a verse with me that became my prayer. “Honor Me by trusting in Me in your day of trouble. Cry aloud to Me, and I will be there to rescue you” (Psalm 50:15 TPT). God was truly with me in my day of trouble!

Thank you for your prayers. Even though you weren’t aware of what I was going through, I’m sure your daily prayers helped carry me through. I’m grateful!

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way.  The Lord be with all of you” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

As my doctor was giving me instructions about the medicines I need to take, she said, “And I know you’ll be praying.” I assured her I would be. The thought has been with me—I’d love a suddenly miracle for myself of course, but I’d also really love it for her to see.

Again, Father, we lift up Sally before You for a healing miracle—not just for herself, but for the testimony to her doctors and others who are treating her cancer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
