To God Be the Glory!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

It is 2:25 a.m.

What a night! I really didn’t go to sleep when I went to bed. I got into bed at 11:00 p.m., watched the weather, and turned off the TV at 11:30 p.m.

Then I tossed and turned, and that’s just not me. I usually crash quickly, but not tonight.

I finally looked at the clock and it was only 1:25 a.m. I thought I’d surely been in bed longer than that!

I had gone through my second chemo treatment less than a week ago, and side effects were better this time. Mr. Nausea got the hint and didn’t hang around 24/7. Neither did Mr. Bone Pain—and believe me, he was a pain. Mr. Metallic Tongue wasn’t as evident, so I’m praising the LORD…

…and believe me, He receives ALL the praise, honor, and glory for the great things He has done!

Thank You, Jesus. I love You.

And you know what is the coolest thing? He first loved us!

Note from the Walk His Way Editor: This devotional was written by a woman whose cancer has returned. Her attitude is “far above rubies” and precious in the sight of the Lord. She has determined in her heart to trust in the Lord, no matter how things go, no matter what her fears or pain. In fact, when she learned she was facing chemo treatments, her words were, “It’s kind of exciting, like an adventure; I’m wondering what God is going to do!” Oh, that we all met our challenges with such a mind and heart! I requested that she write one or more devotionals about her experiences, and I honor her for sharing this journey with us. (P.S. to our regular readers: This was not written by our Sally McClung, whose cancer journey we follow weekly.)
