“As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep… Therefore My Father loves Me because I lay down My life, that I may take it up again.” John 10:15,17
Premeditated Obedience
A Resurrection Day Poem
Premeditated obedience
What a holy sequence!
Obedient in His lowly birth
Willing to leave heaven, for earth.
Our example for abundant life is He,
As well as for comfort, strength and mercy.
For in this act of premeditation
We are secure in our destination.
“The Father loves Me because I lay down My life”
And He did it without discord or strife.
He is the Good Shepherd for us to follow.
And we know His promises are not hollow,
So following this holy sequence
Of premeditated obedience,
We set the example for others to see;
To come to Jesus and be set free,
Forgiven and blessed–it is all true,
And He made that decision just for you.
“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us and we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” 1 John 3:16
Dear Lord, may our lives be filled with premeditated obedience because we take time in Your Word, learning more about You so we can follow Your example. Build us up and make us strong so that all we do and all we say will only glorify You. In Your Name, Amen.
So beautiful and true…thank you 🙂
wonderful. Happy Easter today, this Sunday!
