“A dream is a wish your heart makes when you’re fast asleep. In dreams you lose your heartaches; whatever you wish for you keep.”*
Sound familiar? This is part of Disney’s lyrics to beloved Cinderella. The song goes on to say, “Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come shining through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true.”
Although I don’t believe in my dreams coming through in rainbows, I do believe we have a prince waiting (Jesus) to come for us, thus, believing in Him is the ultimate path to living a “princess” life and “happily ever after.” Why am I sharing about Cinderella dreams? Let me share more.
I woke up this morning with the biggest smile. I had a beautiful dream about my prodigal child coming home with my grandchildren. In my real life, I have not been able to see or speak to them in five long years so this dream was fantastic! In this wonderful dream, we didn’t talk about problems or issues or things that went wrong. There was just simple joy, laughter, love and adoration for being with each other. As I pondered my happy dream, the Cinderella song danced through my mind so I dug a little deeper into the lyrics to find out more.
Afterwards, I thanked God for this time He gave me with my child and grandchildren, even if it was only in my dreams. It gives me hope of a future with my child that may only happen in heaven. This is what I have to hold onto now, and for now, it is enough. It is plenty of hope that keeps this mom praying for her children and for Jesus to be their savior, too, forevermore.
Jeremiah 29:11 is my life verse that I have been holding on to for many years. I never knew when I first discovered it that it would be so real to me today. God always knows what we need, even before we do! “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart’” (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
Thank You, Lord, for hopes, big dreams and Your rainbows, too! Thank You, Lord, that you see the bigger picture of our lives and You have great plans for our future.
I admire your faith and positivity as you wait to see what He will do. You’ve inspired me today. Thank you for being obedient to write this. ❤️

Thank you for those of you praying for my prodigal. I wrote this a few years ago and I am happy to say that God answered that prayer in my heart to see my child again with my grandchildren. It was only for a brief amount of time and now I only see my prodigal and grandchildren though photographs. It’s not what I dreamed my life would look like, but I’m trusting God on this one. I’ve made peace within my heart about this and I am trusting the Lord that one day here on earth or in heaven I will see them all again 🙏 This brought tears to my own eyes today rereading this and being reminded how great God is and how much he loves me ❤️
