“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will in no wise (certainly not) cast out.” John 6:37
All That He Gives
A Mini Devotional
Can you imagine picking and choosing through the Christmas gifts someone gives to you, saying right to their face, “I like this one and this one, but this one I’ll throw out. I reject it.” Of course we wouldn’t do that. We would respect the giver of the gift by being gracious and thankful; we would appreciate their heart of love and goodwill toward us.
In the same way, the Father gives us to Jesus, and Jesus will certainly not cast us out. He receives whomever the Father gives. Thus, there is no partiality with Him—each of us is a gift equally as precious as the others.
We often hear Christians say, “I accepted Christ.” According to today’s Scripture, this seems backwards. Christ has accepted us as a gift from His Father. He has received us from His Father. “All that the Father gives to Me…”
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us…” (1 John 4:10). The “acceptance” is that God accepts us on the basis of Jesus’ sacrificial death.
“Thank You for giving us to Your Son as His Bride. Amen.”
Thank you, Lord Jesus!
Amen!
So excellent! Typically we do have that turned around. Oh, how blessed, oh how fortunate we are that Christ is willing to accept us, broken as we are!
What love He has given unto us!
